Built in the 17th century by order of the admiral of the Tuscan Navy, Jacopo Inghirami, the Villa di Ulignano was designed by the famous architect Gheraldo Silvani. This splendid 16 bedroom villa sleeps 37 people and with its magnificent gardens featuring century old trees, sprawls over an area of 7.5 acres and is 10 kilometers from the picturesque town of Volterra and a short drive from Pisa.
During a tour of Tuscany for his 1964 film Vaghe stelle dell’Orsa, the film director Luchino Visconti was fascinated by the Villa and recommended it to its current owner. After being purchased and entirely renovated, the complex soon became a cultural and artistic centre that has hosted the biggest names of Italian and international cinema and show business and now can be yours too!
