One enters Palazzo Sasso through a charming courtyard full of fruit trees. Once one enters the doors the
real splendor of the palace is revealed!
Ground Floor:Your first step is into a luminous and spacious main sitting room. The grand ceilings, the columns and the walls are elegantly decorated with beautifully restored frescoes, and the room has a satellite television and DVD. Next comes the formal dining room consisting of an oval crystal table seating twelve people, with dressed chairs in Pompeian red. The table linen is of the highest quality from Pratesi and Chinas.
Then one goes into the fully equipped Tuscan kitchen, with an incredible domed bricked ceiling and a quaint breakfast table. Of course if you want a more modern kitchen you have two others to choose from at Palazzo Elisa, including an extremely modern kitchen in pale cream, which has all the modern convenience. There are two additional sitting rooms with heavily polished parquet floors where one can relax with a good book, or just stare off into space marveling at their good fortune for being here!
Then one comes to the first of the bedrooms. With a beamed ceiling this luminous room has a king size bed and its own large en suite bathroom with a terracotta floor. The bed linens are of the highest quality Pratesi linens. The second bedroom is done in creamy colours and features a king size bed and parquet floors. The en suite bathroom is done in marble and features a tub, shower and a large antique mirror. The third bedroom has two twin beds with its own en suite bathroom. The fourth bedroom has a king bed and is somewhat larger. A French draped window adds a sophisticated touch to the already opulent atmosphere, and of course there is an en suite marble bathroom.
The last bedroom is our favourite. Originally the room was the ancient private chapel of Palazzo Elisa evidenced by the religious themed ceiling frescoes. The large empire style sleigh bed has red drpery on a side surmounted by a golden crown. This bedroom has a beautiful mezzanine floor suitable for a crib if needed. The en suite bathroom reflects the same majesty of the bedroom with marble decorations around the tub and basin. A large beautiful antique mirror enriches this private ambience.
